I can’t believe we are saying goodbye to another year. Goodness, 2018 seemed to go by quickly.
It was an amazing card making year for me. I got the opportunity to work with so many wonderful companies and joined the Love From Lizi design team. Thank you to all my followers for a terrific 2018 year. I appreciate all the encouragement and kind words. I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2019.
I decided to put together a slide show featuring the cards I made in 2018. (At least the cards I photographed.) You can watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
It’s always fun to look back at my ten most viewed blog posts for the year. I guess it’s no surprise that all of them are 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial posts.

Carta Bella Have a Merry Christmas
I’m looking forward to another awesome year of card-making.
#5 is my favorite….I love those cards and the paper. I love all your cards but that one (if I had to pick) is my favorite. Thank you for all your inspiration
Hi Kristie, I look forward to your posts to see what amazing cards you have come up with. I especially appreciate the card sketches with the measurements all worked out for us! All the best to you and your family for a wonderful 2019!
Hi,
I look forward to seeing what you do. It's fun when I happen to have the same paper( I love 6 x 6 paper too!!!). You help me get a start on my projects.
How many cards do yo make in a year???
I am spending New Years Eve making cards and drinking diet Vernors!!!
May you have a blessed New Year!!!
Kristie, you've inspired me to cut down most of my 12 x 12 to 6 x 6 so I can try some of these marathon stacks (6 x 6 doesn't feel as intimidating than 12 x 12 lol). I'm curious…I know you say you spend a good amount of time figuring out the sizes of paper and mats and embellishments, but I'm curious why you change up the sketch after 4 or 6 cards. Are you figuring out the best use of the paper? Or is it because too many more of the same sketch gets boring? Or…? And if you ARE changing sketches to utilize the paper with as little scrap leftover as possible, how do you do that? I watched your video about how you figure out the sizes for each sketch, but what kind of math are you doing to figure out the various sketches? Thanks in advance. And Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year, Kristie and thank you for posting your cards. First, I bought Carta Bella Have a Merry Christmas and tried your designs almost exactly, then I tried to figure out some other cards from papers I had. I made quite a number of Christmas cards according to sketches in your Doodlebug Christmas Town post and I was excited how they turned out. In this year I will definitely continue getting a lot of inspiration from you because I have been making cards for animal organisations to sell during various events and I try every card to be different.
Thank you, Sherry! I really enjoyed the Spring Market collection as well. The colors are so lovely. Happy New Year!
Thank you, Shari! I appreciate your kindness and support. I'm already looking for new-to-me sketches and you know I'm always happy to share the measurements. Happy New Year!
Thank you, Gerri! Great minds think alike since we choose the same paper collections. 🙂
I never actually keep track of how many cards I make. But it was definitely a lot in 2018. I'm going to try to keep track this year. I even found a tally counter app to try.
Happy New Year!!!
Thank you, Irene! I'm so happy I can provide some inspiration for you to use up some of that 12 x 12 paper. The 6×6 size is definitely easier to manage, in my opinion.
I don't really have a great answer to your questions though. Sometimes I make 2 cards using a sketch, other times, I make more. Usually at the beginning, I tend to make 2 – 4 cards with each sketch. It really depends on what I feel like. As I continue using the paper pad and the scraps get smaller, I will make more cards using the same sketch. Especially when I'm down to the scrap cards. It's harder to find a variety of sketches to really utilize the smaller paper scraps. I do repeat sketches quite often, especially those scrap sketches at the end. I really just make a few cards using a sketch, then select another sketch make a few more cards and keep going until the paper is pretty much all gone. I've been making cards this way for many, many years and I guess it has just become second nature to me. 🙂
Happy New Year!
Thank you, Tatokalan! I'm so happy to provide some inspiration for you. I love that you are donating your cards to help support local animal organizations. I'm sure it is greatly appreciated. I hope you have a wonderful new year with lots of crafting fun! 🙂
I've enjoyed your 6×6 paper pad videos since OWH days. And I am really enjoying watching your card kit videos. You inspire me to get my supplies out and create! Thank you. and Happy New Year.
Thank you for a fabulous year of inspiration, Kristie! You've inspired me in so many ways! I've followed your tutorials exactly and just recently started branching out to do more of my own thing with them. I never really had the confidence to do that before. I love that you've given me an outlet for all the 6×6 pads I own, enabled me to buy more and enabled me to try products I wouldn't have really considered (guillotine trimmer and power tabs). I really appreciate you and all you do! I truly look forward to what you create next. And I am thrilled at all your successes. Very much deserved. Happy New Year and Happy Crafting! 🙂
Wow–that was a banner year for card making! Congratulations on all you have accomplished! Thank you for all your hard work and fabulous inspiration. You have really opened my eyes to so many new items (Love from Lizi! and Queen & Co.!) and new techniques each year I watch your videos (I started with OWH–I think your first one). I always learn something and really appreciate all the time and thought you put your videos, right down to your matching nail polish. I am also amazed that your desk is always so clean and uncluttered–maybe some day I will learn that trick! Looking forward to your creations in 2019. Happy New Year to you and your family!
Thank you, Debbie! I am so grateful for all my fellow OWHers. Such a great community. I hope 2019 is a wonderful year for you. 🙂
Thank you for all your kindness and support, Jeanne! 2018 was an amazing year for me. How wonderful that you are starting to add your own touches to your cards. I think you are a very talented crafter and far better at coloring than I am. 🙂 I hope your year is filled with joy and lots of crafty time.
Thank you, Jennifer! 2018 was a super busy card making year for me. I'm trying to keep track of exactly how many cards I make in 2019. But I may not really want to know. Lol! My eyes have been opened to the companies as well. And know I just love their products.
Coordinating my nail polish is just a fun thing to do. Sometimes it's challenging if I need to record videos back to back. My desk isn't as clean as it may appear. I only let you see a small portion. But I do clean up after every video. My husband is going to do a few upgrades to my craft room this year. Then I plan on filming a craft room tour. (It's been highly requested.) Thank you again for all your kindness and support. I have the best crafty friends!
