I’ve been using 6×6 paper pads for many years. There are a handful of paper companies that are my favorite to use. It’s just a personal preference based on paper quality and designs. I realize that some people are limited with their craft purchases. So I stopped by my local Michael’s store and picked up the Backyard Table 6×6 paper pad by Recollections. It contains 24 double-sided sheets and is full of lovely spring floral designs.

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 29 cards.

Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was just under 4 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 13 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 7 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Recollections Backyard Table 6×6 paper pad.

  • Very pretty cards! I have that paper pad and really like it. I think Michael’s has recently stepped up their game with their paper pad choices. They had several really cute ones.

  • Love these cards. I need to find some of those Reverse Confetti stamp sets because I really like those sentiments..

  • I come back and look at your cards over and over. They are always so beautiful. You have such a wonderful sense of color and seeing what goes together so perfectly!!!!

  • I am once again totally inspired by your video! I agree with Tracey Jean above–those Reverse Confetti sentiments are awesome. I am looking for masculine papers you might consider, but boy–are they hard to find! Thanks again for your work!

  • Fantastic work, Kristie! I think it is great you used a pad that could be more local for some crafters. I just might have to check that pad out as the patterns are so pretty! I so appreciate all the hard work you put into creating the cards/videos. You inspire so many. Thank you so much. Have a lovely weekend. And um…I just got some happy mail this week with a few things that might have been inspired by your videos. And I *may* be prepared for something you *might* do a little later this year. Wink, wink. LOL 🙂

  • Hi Kristie
What a fabulous set of sketches and fantastic cards as always. I think I need a cover up die, so I'll add it to my ever growing wish list. I'm currently going through my paper stash and have been inspired to have a go at making some cards using these sketches. Thank you Kristie for all your hard work, but please keep doing it. Happy Crafting. Tracey.x

  • Thank you, Heidi! It's a really pretty paper collection. I agree that Michael's has improved their paper pads. I would have never even considered trying one in the past. It's really nice that they carry double sided paper pads as well. 🙂

  • Thank you! I just love Reverse Confetti sentiment sets. I think the Circle Wishes is my favorite one currently. It's hard to find sentiment stamps that fit nicely inside circle die cuts. Maybe a bit closer to summer there will be more masculine paper pads available. I've found one so far, but's that it.

  • Thanks, Jeanne! As much as I enjoy some of the bigger paper brands, I realized not everyone is able to do online purchases. I was very pleased to find this lovely paper pad at Michael's. I'll probably check Joanns and Hobby Lobby as well. Yay for happy mail! Since you know my taste in crafty goodies, you're probably right about a future video using some of your recent purchases. 😉 I have a huge stack of 6×6's I want to use. I just need a few more hours in the day.

  • Thank you, Tracey! I am definitely a fan of using cover up dies. The new collage dies from MFT are super fun and perfect for using up the last of the paper scraps. I'm happy to hear you are enjoying using card sketches. You know I'm of fan of using them. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful day!

  • Great designs, as always. I have received so much inspiration from your site. I like the way you repeated some older sketches this time. Interesting how OWH 123 looks completely different by turning it on its side.

  • Thank you, LeNora! I really appreciate your kindness. I know there are tons of sketches available, but I do love reusing them. In all the years I've used OWH sketch #123, this is the first time I rotated the sketch. I agree, it does look very different, but I still like it. I hope you have a wonderful day! 🙂
