Hello and welcome to my first 6×6 tutorial for 2018. I decided to use the Frosty collection from Pink & Main. One thing I love about their papers is the clean, graphic style designs. The majority of the paper pad could easily be used for any occasion, not just winter cards.
I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 36 cards.
I recorded my entire process of disappearing the 6×6 paper pad. The video is sped up 7 times since the full recording time was around 4 1/2 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 12 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 9 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Pink & Main’s Frosty 6×6 paper pad.

I was so excited to see your latest video. You have inspired me and I’ve been on a card making roll using sketches. Love your work.
Hi Kristie
Fabulous tutorial as always. Loved the paper pad. I have a question for you if that's ok?. I love the tutorials, but wondered if you've done a process video on how you decide what sketches to use to get the best out of a 6×6 pad? Would love to see one if you haven't.
Looking forward to the next one.
Happy crafting.

Thanks, Kristie, for yet another inspiring post and video. You're a marvel & a whiz. I like your goal of making the layers as perfect as possible. My OCD habits really come out when making cards. ☺
very pretty cards!
Oh yay! Another video using a very pretty paper pad! I'm going to have to check it out. Um…this is working the opposite for me, I keep looking for the fun 6×6 pads you use, rather than delving into my stash. LOL But they look so great! I like the variety of sketches in this set. I have to ask what die set did you get the little banner from that you use on a lot of your cards. The supply list says American Crafts. You used it a few times in this set. I think one of the sketches is Operation Home Sketch #6. I like madhatter's question. Wish I had the type of brain that could envision how many cards I can get from a sketch and have enough left to make more cards. Even watching your videos, I waste paper by not cutting orientation specific papers the wrong way. LOL Thanks for another fabulous set of cards! 🙂
Oops, I meant to say I waste paper by cutting the orientation specific (like stripes going horizontal instead of vertical) pattern papers the wrong way. Added a not above that didn't make sense. LOL Sorry about that.
Kristie, you never disappoint me! Love this video. My favorite layout is Mojo 480. Can't wait to do a card with this layout.
Have you seen the new Carta Bella paper coming out.. Spring Market and Practically Perfect??? I'm already saving for Flora #2. I'm going to have to get a job to support my paper needs!!! Don't you love this hobby???
Thanks again for sharing your talent.
Beautiful collection, Kristie! I love it so much that I ordered the 6×6 pad today. Thanks for sharing your artistry!
Hmmmm, it appears my initial comment didn't post! I don't know why. I wrote something to the effect that your videos have the opposite effect on me. I keep looking for the pads you choose to use because I like them so much. Doesn't reduce the number I already have if I keep doing that. LOL I don't mind too much. I also said something about not getting as many cards as you because even while watching the videos, I manage to cut orientation specific papers incorrectly and then can't use it for that particular sketch. Oh well. I do like the new variety of sketches you chose to use this time. Great job! 🙂
Me again! Sorry! I think I also asked what die set you used for the little banner in the Operation Write Home Sketch #6 above and on several other cards. I see it is from American Crafts, but is there a specific set it is from? Thanks. I'm done now. Haha!
WOW 36 cards all for that? That's great! I love your card for our challenge at Cards in Envy. Thanks for joining in.
Hi Tracey! Thank you for your kind words and continued support. I have been asked that question several times. I have talked about it briefly before, but I think I will add it to my video to-do list and go into more detail.
The need for straight and even layers is definitely my crafty OCD. Lol! Glad I'm not the only one. 🙂
Thank you, Robin! 🙂
I've received several comment notifications that seem to have disappeared from my blog. No sure what happened.
Thank you, Jeanne! I have actually cut paper the wrong direction/orientation as well. Even during my videos. I just don't tell anymore and continue crafting. But I understand how that would be frustrating when you're trying to follow along.
Sorry for the constant enabling, but I really love 6×6 paper pads. I just need to craft faster so that I can use up some of the older ones in my stash. 🙂
Thanks, Sherrie! I really enjoyed the sketches in this video. Lots of variety!
I have seen the new Carta Bella collections. So many lovely choices for spring. It's hard to decide which ones to buy. This is definitely not an inexpensive hobby, but it's so enjoyable. 🙂
Thanks, Sherry! You will really enjoy using the paper collection. It's just lovely! 🙂
Thanks, Sherri! This was a super fun paper collection to use. 🙂
I cut paper the wrong way as well! Relived I am not the only one. Another great vide Kristie!! And it has purple paper!
Kristie, Do you buy your bases premade or do you make them? I am a Washington who has transplanted to the Midwest and it is good to see another PNW'ner 🙂
Hello. I grew up in North Dakota and now live in WA. I guess we reversed our locations. I buy my card bases from a Kelly Paper in Seattle. I order a full case of cardstock and pay them to cut it all into cardbases. It saves me so much time. I score the card bases myself. 🙂
Hi Kristie
First time I have come across your blog and must admit I love it!
I tend to stay away from 6 x 6 pads because I end up with so much waste (although will admit I do like the smaller designs on 6 x 6 for card making).
Your tutorial and blog are wonderful! Now I can’t wait to check out current paper stacks.
Thank you for all of the time yout have invested in your tutorials-including measurements for each card you show.
You have a new fan 🙂
Hello and welcome! Thanks so much for your kind words and support. I am always happy to share with fellow crafters.
I have been making cards using 6×6's for many many years and I never get tired of it. Have a wonderful day! 🙂
