Hello friends! A local friend of mine is getting married this month. She asked if I would be willing to make her a set of Thank You cards in her wedding colors. Of course, I agreed.

Making multiple cards of the same design is nothing new for me. Although making 50 of the same design can be a bit challenging. The hardest part was finding enough pattern paper that worked with the colors and style my friend wanted. I ended up buying pattern paper from my local Michaels. It’s their Recollections brand which is very thin. But since I needed to keep the cards on the flatter side, the thin pattern paper worked out well.

I couldn’t find any pattern paper with the right yellow and flower design. So I decided to purchase Altenew’s Craft-a-flower Daisy die set. Then I just had to buy the right yellow cardstock.

With so many dies involved in the card design, it took many, many hours to cut out all of the pieces. My sweet daughter helped cut out many of the pieces. I needed 50 of everything except the small circles. I needed 150 of those.

I chose a sketch that wouldn’t need large pieces of the pattern paper. I only used 10 sheets of 12×12 paper. At one point while I was cutting out all the pieces, I had to stop and make another trip to the store since I was short one sheet.

The 2 different brown cardstock colors were papers I already had on hand, so that was nice. I did have to purchase the yellow cardstock for the flowers though since I didn’t have enough.

The die cutting and assembling the daisies took the most time. I think it was worth it though. My friend really likes the cards.

  • That’s amazing! What a nice thing to do for your friend. Quite interesting to tally up the cost of making a card. Thank you!

    • Thank you! I knew my friend would want to know the cost of materials, so I did my best to keep track. I never even considered asking her to pay for the cards. I was happy to make the cards for her. 🙂

  • Wow, Kristie, these look wonderful. I’m sure your friend is thrilled with the results. Definitely a labor of love with all the die cutting. Nice to have a helper close by, too. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  • Beautiful cards! You are a dear heart to do this, but that’s what friends are for, right? Thanks for sharing this! I hope you had a good movie to watch while you did all the assembly. Or some fun music…. The results are certainly perfect! ❤️

    • Thank you so much! I was so happy to make the cards for my friend. Yes, that’s is what friends are for. Even though I kept track of the cost of supplies, I’ll be gifting her the cards. She may pay my daughter a few dollars for helping though. Since my daughter was helping with a lot of the die cutting, we did watch a couple movies while we worked. 🙂
