Hello friends! I probably already have more than enough Christmas cards for the year. But I just couldn’t resist using Queen & Company’s brand new Happy Holly Days kit. It is another shaker kit, which are always fun. And as I’ve said before, Queen & Co shakers are so easy to use. The kits include pre-cut foam and acetate pieces that fit perfectly with the dies. This kit has enough for 24 shaker cards. That is A LOT!
Go HERE to see my unboxing video showing everything included in the kit.
Since there is a 6×6 paper pad included in the kit, I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial to make 26 cards.
Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was just over 6 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 4 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 10 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Cardstock colors –
Parakeet – Bazzill
Walnut – Bazzill
Bazzill Red – Bazzill
Cherry Splash – Bazzill
Almond Cream – Bazzill
Silver pearlescent – unknown
White pearlescent – unknown
Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Queen & Co. Happy Holly Days kit.

Love this! I ordered the kit late last week and am so excited to see your video. I LOVE the sleigh cards you made–especially the glittery one. The hillsides you created really set the scene! Clever usage of the preset as a fireplace, too. And thank you for showing how to assemble the bows. They seem to take a bit of time but they are so cute and really add a special touch. Thank you!!
Kristie, you did a great job with this set! I am looking forward to mine arriving so I can play like you did! I can't wait to watch the video. Your work always inspires! Thanks so much for sharing. Hope you are having a happy week!
For the love of card sketches! Thanks for continued inspiration! Perhaps one day I too all b be member of a design team!!!?
Thank you, Jennifer! The kit is so fun! And it's amazing how many shaker cards you can create with just the kit. The bows are adorable. Yes, they do take a bit of time, but they are worth it. Using the 1/8" Scor tape made the bow assembly easy though.
Thank you, Jeanne! I hope you enjoy the kit as much as I did. I've already ordered some of the foam/acetate refills since I know I will want them in the future. 🙂
I'm always happy to share all sketches I use with fellow crafters. 🙂
Start applying for design team positions and you may get one. There are lots out there. 🙂
I am anxiously waiting for the kit to arrive in my mailbox. I can't wait to make some shaker cards using your cards as inspiration with my 3 granddaughters. I didn't order the embellishments as I have loads of pearls and rhinestone embellishments.
I hope you and your granddaughters enjoy using the kit as much as I did. It's so much fun! Happy crafting! 🙂
It arrived yesterday and I will be busy cutting and die cutting to make cards at a later date.
