Both of my kids have been begging me for years to get a puppy. I’m actually allergic to both dogs and cats, so I’ve always told them no. I have several friends who own dogs and I don’t really mind being around them. (Especially since I get allergy shots.) We still don’t have a dog, but now I’m starting to think, maybe. Shhh, don’t tell my kids I said that though. But until that day actually happens, I’m perfectly happy to use some darling puppy paper to make cards. I used Doodlebug’s Puppy Love 6×6 paper pad and my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial to make 32 cards.

A big thanks to my awesome friends who lent me their dog stamps and Copic markers. I’m very new to using Copics. So, I only used easy images and kept the coloring very basic. But, I figured the sweet puppy images needed to be colored.

I’ve had requests to make an animal themed video while I disappeared the 6×6 paper pad. The video is sped up 10 times. The real time was just under 6 hours; not including die cutting time.

I used 20 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid cardstock. Here are all the leftover scraps from the paper pad.

Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug’s Puppy Love 6×6 paper pad.

  • I love watching these. It gets me inspired to make some cards of my own! And I sure have enough 6×6 pads to keep my busy. They are a bit addictive, aren't they? And Doodlebug has those cute stickers and matching elements. I hadn't seen this pad yet but now I have to get it. Thank you for another great video!

  • Thank you, Jennifer! Yes, 6×6's are soooo addictive! I'm not sure I'll ever actually get through them all in my lifetime. Maybe if the paper companies would stop making new cute ones that I just HAVE to buy. Especially Doodlebug! Can you tell I really like Doodlebug paper? 😉

  • I know–every time I turn around, there are new ones! And Doodlebug seems to have some of the cutest around!

  • Again another brilliant set of adorable cards. This is such a bright colorful paper pad. I like the way you colored the dogs – it made them stand out more. Your use of embossing folders added to each card. Wonderful!

  • Thank you, Beth! I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and do a little bit of coloring. Those puppies would have looked so plain without it. 🙂

  • On average how many sheets of card stock do you use? Do you pre purchase the matching card stock when plan the videos? And lastly where do you get your card stock? I just want to tell you I really love your videos and get very excited when I see you have posted a new one. I watch each of your video at least 5 times. Please keep them up!

  • Thank you! I use an average of 20 – 25 sheets of cardstock for each 6×6. I try to use coordinating cardstock from my own stash first. But if I don't have enough, I do buy some from my local scrapbook store prior to starting a video.

  • I think that I heart sketches sketch just jumped out at me and said "make me!" LOL! I am pinning it right away and plan on creating with that sketch today! Fantastic cards, as always!
