I have a lot of older 6×6 paper pads that I would really like to use up this year. Especially since I want to buy all the new collections getting released. I decided to start with the Kitten Smitten collection from Doodlebug Design. The Puppy Love collection was released around the same time and I finished that paper pad quite awhile ago. Not really sure why I hadn’t gotten around to using the Kitten version. But now I have and I really enjoyed the pretty pastel colors and sweet designs. I included a few coordinating Doodlepop stickers and cat images from MFT.

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 33 cards.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 13 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 10 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock. The video is sped up 7 times since the full recording time was around 4 and a half hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

I really tried to use more of the included sentiment and image cut aparts, but I felt like they were targeted for scrapbooking rather than card making. The pattern on the backside just didn’t work well for my cards, so I have more scraps left over than I normally do.

Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design’s Kitten Smitten 6×6 paper pad.

  • Such a great video!! I have this paper pad as well, and it's great to see your creations. You had the perfect stamp sets to go with it, too! Thanks for another inspiring video!

  • You always do such a lovely job with your cards Kristie. These are all so very cute.
I am glad that I'm not the only one to return to the same sketches over and over.
Thank you again for the videos that you do, they are always inspirational and motivating. ♥

  • Thank you, Kristie, for sharing! I look forward to watching the video. These cards are wonderful. Love the colors and who can resist the sweet kitties. I really like the sketches you chose to use, too. Your work is always so crisp and clean. Thanks for ALL you do! 🙂

  • I watch for your videos, i love that this set could easily be baby cards, could you tell me where you get your enamel dots. I just down loaded your sketches so i could make some cards thanks for the inspiration. Also I would love your scraps i just got the quilt die!

  • Such a great set of cards. I have this paper pad, too! (and the dog themed one since I love dogs). As usual, you did a great job with the coordinating card stock – they really make everything tie together so well. Thank you for another inspiring video!!

  • Thank you for your kind words. I reuse sketches all the time. I usually try to add in a few different ones once in awhile. But sometimes it's nice to simply use the sketches I love. 🙂

  • Thank you, Jeanne! You are always so kind and supportive. I really appreciate it! I just loved using this paper collection. I'm not sure why it took me so long to finally get to it though. Have a wonderful day! 🙂

  • Thank you, Melissa! I appreciate your kind words and continued support. This paper collection would definitely work well for baby cards with all the soft pastel colors. The enamel dots are made by Doodlebug and I bought them many years ago from The Craft Warehouse. I noticed MFT recently started carrying them. Have fun using the quilt die! 🙂

  • Thank you, Jennifer! Both the kitten and the dog collections are so cute! I don't have any pets. But my kids beg for a dog and my daughter pretends to be a cat all the time. Lol! Have a wonderful day!

  • I so enjoy the videos and individual card sketches. Where do you purchase the 6×6 paper pads? Online or in store?

  • Love your 6×6 paper pad cards!! Just ordering some and plan on having the set of 30 completed for a retreat I am holding and will have extra packs to entice attendees……..who wouldn't want to do these!!?? May even use the set I do as a door prize!!

  • Thank you, Sanna! I really don't have any great organization for my sketches right now. I just keep the printed copies in a folder. But I do have a Pinterest board with all the sketches I've included measurements.

  • Thank you, Patti! I appreciate your support. I purchase most of 6×6's online from A Cherry on Top. The few local craft stores near me don't carry the paper brands I prefer unless I do a special order.

  • Thank you, Patricia! What a great idea for a retreat! I'm sure the attendees will have a wonderful time. Happy crafting to you! 🙂

  • Would you show us how you use the scraps with the quilt dies? I have them but don’t know how to use them with the scraps.

  • I have had several requests to do a video showing how I use the paper scraps to make a quilt card. I'm currently finishing up another 6×6 video and then I will be able to start recording the tutorial. 🙂

  • Hello. I own the Tonic Studios guillotine 12" by 6" trimmer. It comes with a detachable 6 inch extension bar. I've had it for many years and still love it.

  • I assume you mean cat stamps not car stamps. The set is called Good Friends. It's made by MFT, but it's part of the United We Flourish sets from Ellen Hutson. It's sold exclusively on the Ellen Hutson website.
