Easter is right around the corner, so I decided to get started on Easter cards. I used an older Doodlebug Design 6×6 paper pad called Easter Express. It’s a fun collection full of cute designs and soft pastel colors. There are several sheets of Easter images and sentiments included in the paper pad. I used quite a few of the cut aparts this time. Since I will be giving all of the cards to a local retirement home, I only used the Easter sentiments.
I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 36 cards.
The video is sped up 7 times since the full recording time was just over 5 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 7 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 13 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. What kind of solid cardstock do you use … smooth or textured?
These are beautiful. I keep searching my local stores for Easter supplies and haven’t found anything like this. Where do you purchase your 6 x 6 pads. Any brand!

I prefer textured cardstock, especially for the card backgrounds. But there seems to be more color variety with the smooth cardstock. 🙂
Thank you, Linda! It seems like there weren't very many new Easter collections released this year. Doodlebug's Easter Express collection is from their 2016 release. I buy most of my 6×6's online from A Cherry on Top. They carry a wide variety of brands and stay current with newer releases. They don't offer free shipping very often, but they have sales all the time. Some brands I buy directly from the independent company. Reverse Confetti, Pink & Main, Lawn Fawn. 🙂
Such a cute paper pad (of course, it's Doodlebug!) and I love all the cards you made. I really liked how you used the card base as a layer, too! More options for making a sketch unique. Thank you also for posting individual pictures on your blog. They really give great detail of your fabulous work.
