Doodlebug Design – Land that I Love – 30 cards from one 6×6 paper pad
Hello friends! I was excited to see Doodlebug Design released a new patriotic paper collection this year called Land that I Love. I love making red, white, and blue cards, so I had to buy 3 of the paper pads. I needed 16 more cards for Independence Day to give to the residents at a local retirement home. This collection was perfect. I also purchased the coordinating ephemera, cardstock stickers, and 12×12 Petite Print paper pack. With 3 paper pads, I know I’ll be able to use all of it eventually.
Because it takes many hours to turn a paper pad into cards, this video has been sped up 6 times. The real time recording was just under 6 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
Here is the cardstock I first pulled before starting on the cards. I always pull out way more cardstock than I ever use. I list the brands and colors if I have the information. Some of my cardstock has been in my craft room for many, many years.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 12 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 6 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. For sketches that don’t include measurements, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. I also included some sketches by Queen & Company that were designed to work with their Foundation die sets. Most of my cards are A2 size. I did make a couple slimline cards this time, just for fun. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design’s Land that I Love 6×6 paper pad.

Terrific set of cards! I already started watching the video and it is so fun. Congrats on your first slimline cards. They are wonderful. Scrolling through, I’m excited to see you create that last card. Looks like a new cover die and a fun one, too. Thanks for sharing, Kristie and always making me wish my wallet was eternally deep and full of money! Haha! Have a great day.
Thank you so much! It was very fun trying out the slimline cards. Sorry for the enabling. Lol! Most of the previous cover up dies I’ve used have been retired, so I thought I’d look for some new ones. The diamond design was very fun! 🙂
I commented over on YT, but I forgot to say how cool your slimline cards were! I have actually been making them for many years (mostly because I had so many #10 envelopes around), but I am excited to see all the new products being released for them. Like Jeanne, I wish I had a big fat wallet of money for all the cool items you show! Thank you for all your hard work.
Thank you, Jennifer! Those were my very first slimline cards. I have a ton of A2 size card bases, so I’ve never really been interested in trying the slimline size. But when Queen & Company shared a couple sketches, I couldn’t resist. It’s so fun that you’ve been making that size card for years though. Before it was even popular! 🙂
Your work is so inspiring. I stare at the little leftover scraps you show, every time I think “she’s gonna have more this time”, but nope! Lol.
I’ve been binge watching your youtube videos for a couple of weeks now. I’m so glad I found you via your 50 cards with Jenn bena.

Thank you so much, Caroline! It’s always fun figuring out different ways to finish up all those little paper scraps. Lol! I had so much fun doing the video collaboration with Jenn. She is so talented and super sweet! 🙂
