Welcome to the first card challenge of May over at Cards in Envy. The theme is One Layer. Make a card using only ONE layer, not including the card base.

I kept my card fairly simple. And I finally tried the Distress Oxide inks. I bought 2 when they first came out and just hadn’t used them. Until now.

Stitched background die – MFT

Image and sentiment stamp – Lawn Fawn

Ink – Reverse Confetti and Ranger Distress Oxide

Be sure to check out the rest of the Cards in Envy design team’s cards. I’d love for you to play along with our card challenge. Just remember to keep your card fairly flat so it fits nicely in an envelope.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

I appreciate your kindness and support!

  • Well, you said you tried them, but you didn't say if you liked them. I like how it looks blended together. The chameleon is cute. Sure is a fun card. Thanks so much for sharing, Kristie! Hope you have a great week!

  • Lol! I guess I didn't say whether I liked the oxide inks. I need to practice more before I can answer that question. I really like cards from other crafters using the inks though. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful week as well.

  • Cute! I know you like layers and matting, so this must have been a little different than your usual. I think it came out well! I haven't tried the exude inks yet, but have seen great examples.

  • Thank you! Yes, this style of card is definitely outside my comfort zone. Although it's always fun trying something different. 🙂
