A friend recently invited me to a Salad-in-a-Jar party. All the guests brought a couple different salad ingredients and five quart-size mason jars. Everyone filled their jars with their choice of ingredients. At the end of the party, we all went home with a week’s worth of fresh and healthy lunches. How perfect! Plus it was fun to try foods I wouldn’t have ever thought to put in a salad.
Here’s a picture of all our finished salads. Yummy!
This Paper Smooches stamp set came into mind when I was making a thank you card for my friend. I paper pieced the darling carrot and used some fun faux stitch die cuts.
I added some Wink of Stella glitter to the leaves of the carrot for just a little sparkle.

Love the card — and the idea! What kind of things were there for your salads? I'm have to eat more fresh fruit and vegetable-ish because of a ton of food allergies and I'd love some ideas!
Thank you, Tricia! We had a small group, but still seemed to have a good variety of ingredients. There were mixed greens, celery, snap peas, green onions, zucchini, carrots, cabbage, garbanzo and black beans, rice noodles, beets, olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, cauliflower, quinoa, and I think a few other things. With a larger group, there would definitely be more choices. And there were also salad dressings. I have quite a few food allergies, so my choices were a bit more limited. I'm sure if you do a search for Salad in a Jar parties, lots of ideas would pop up.
