I am the guest designer for Scrapping for Less using the August Flavor of the Month Card Kit. The theme is For the Love of Pets. There are 4 different mini collections. Each contains 6 papers, a stamp set, and a variety of embellishments and stickers. I love how well everything coordinates together. The stamps can easily be used with any of the mini collections.

I post a lot of 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorials and many people feel quite overwhelmed with the idea of using an entire 6×6 paper pad for card making. Trying out a monthly kit, could definitely make things easier. You could start by using just one of the mini collections since it only has 6 sheets of paper. And it’s perfect since the stamps and embellishments have already been coordinated for you. Leaving you with more time to simply create.

I made a total of 12 cards using the For the Love of Pets kit. I still have plenty of leftovers to make many more cards. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

  • Such a fun set of cards, Kristie. And what a great way to introduce your tutorials and way that you create cards. The sketches you used here were fun and the images so cute. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to watching the video. 🙂

  • I always struggle with using all the paper because it is so fun and pretty. I do realize that there is always going to be more cute paper coming down the road. You inspired me to try and use up the entire kit this month. Thanks!

  • I'm really enjoying your ten cards/1 kit (or in this case 12 cards!) videos. It makes me want to buy the kits.

  • Thank you, Jeanne! I really like that Scrapping for Less offers 4 sketches for inspiration with all their monthly kits. I also learned about some new sketches sites.:)

  • Thank you for your kind words. It's always more fun turning the pretty papers into lovely cards. And the paper companies just keep making more cute papers. I'm planning on using the rest of this kit for another set of cards. 🙂

  • Thank you, Debbie! There are some fun monthly kits available. I've been so honored for the chance to guest design for a couple of them. 🙂

  • These kits seem like the perfect fit for your card making style. I love the variety of items them include in each of the sets! I have never heard of a couple of those sketch sites or the Santoro stamp, which I loved! I also really like the way you used those stencils!! You did a fabulous job — I bet you could get another 10-12 cards out of what you have left. Thank you for sharing your creative process–you're always inspiring!

  • I'm still fairly new to using monthly kits, but Scrapping for Less kits are great for card makers. I love that they include 4 different mini collections. It's perfect for people who want just a sampling of different paper collections. Some of the sketch sites were new to me as well. I'm excited to look at some of their other sketches. I could definitely make quite a few more cards. I may even do a part 2 video if I can find the time. 🙂

  • I absolutely love this kit. Mine arrived yesterday and I cant wait to play. This is my first kit from SFL when do they post the current sketches?

  • Have fun playing with this darling kit! I think the sketches were just overlooked this month, but they are now available on the Scrapping for Less website.
