Hello friends! I thought I’d take a little break from Christmas cards to use the new Queen & CompanyMonster Mash kit. It’s a fun and colorful kit that includes a stamp set, monster building dies, pom poms, eyeball stickers, and gloobers to adhere the pom poms. Even though there are a couple Halloween sentiment stamps, the kit can easily be used year round. The kit does not include a paper pad, so I chose to use the Fright Fest collection since the colors coordinate perfectly with the pom poms in the kit.
As usual, I included a lot of coordinating cardstock for all the matted layers I like to add to my cards. I also included a variety of Queen & Company embellishments that I recently picked up at their Queen for a Day event in Seattle, Washington. It was a lot of fun and I highly recommend attending if you are able.
I’ve used Queen & Company shaker kits before, but this was the first pom pom kit I tried. They really do make their kits so easy to use. The included gloobers are perfect for attaching the pom poms. The kit is also great without the pom poms. You can still create a bunch of different monsters using all the dies and sentiments.
I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 28 cards.
Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was around 6 1/2 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 16 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 8 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Cardstock colors –
Black – Recollections
Circus Peanuts – Bazzill
Embossed Plum Pudding – Bazzill
Meadow – Coredinations
Imperial – Coredinations
Purple Majesty – Coredinations
Hydrangea – Coredinations
Turquoise – unknown
Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Queen & Co. Monster Mash kit and Fright Fest 6×6 paper pad.

Just watched your monster mash video and love the card done wit Mojo Monday 246; what I would call the "One eyed, one horn, purple people monster". He is so cute. Love him. Thanks for sharing.
Oh Kristie, I saw your Instagram post and thought the cards were cute, but didn't see this post yesterday. Oh my goodness, these are SO fun. I love the expressions that you can add and the texture, for lack of a better word, that the pompoms add to the monsters. I really can't wait to watch these cards come to life in your video. Excellent work!
Goodness, these are so cute!
Those monsters are adorable–even without the pom poms! I absolutely LOVE the bat!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful card kit and your boo-tiful creations!
Thank you! My dad always sang that song when I was a kid. Lol! I really enjoyed making the little monsters using this fun kit.
Thank you, Jeanne! This really was a fun set of cards to make. I loved creating the little pom pom monsters. They definitely have a lot of texture. Lol!
Thank you, Heidi! They were so much fun to make. 🙂
Thank you, Jennifer! The bat is definitely my favorite creature in the whole set. I really enjoyed using this card kit. Pom pom monsters are just so fun!
Hi! I love watching you work! I see in video and supply list that you use the Scotch ATG tape glider, can you tell me where you get your tape refills please? I found some generic ( looking for less expensive that Scotch brand if possible) on line but they had bad reviews that the tape breaks all the time. Please and thank you!!
Thank you, Stacy. I really appreciate your kindness. I do use the Scotch ATG, but I don't purchase the Scotch brand refills. I purchase a full case of refills from Tape Jungle online. I usually watch for a sale and pay around a dollar or less per roll. Occasionally, I do receive a defective or finicky roll. But it's rare and I can usually still manage to make it work. I've used their tape for many, many years and highly recommend them. Plus shipping is free if you are in the US. 🙂
Thank you so very much for that information! I’ll continue admiring your work!
