I think I may be addicted to using the fun shaker kits from Queen and Company. I was super excited for their latest release, Magical Characters. I put everything aside just so I could get started on this darling kit.

The Magical Characters paper collection is perfect for so many different card themes. The colors are bright and cheerful. And I love the variety of different pattern designs. Of course, the pretty pink papers were my favorite. This is a shaker kit and there are enough foam/acetate pieces to make 15 shaker cards. If you’ve never used a Queen and Company shaker kit before, I highly recommend it. Their pre-cut foam & acetate pieces make the process so easy and they sell a variety of fun shaker toppings. This kit is definitely one of my favorite card kits I’ve ever used. ?

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 34 cards.

Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was around 6 hours not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 17 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 12 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Queen & Company’s Magical Characters 6×6 paper pad.

  • What a coincidence…i just got the email saying this was back in stock, guess what I am buying. 🙂 your creations are awesome as always!

  • Wow, Kristie, these are terrific. You did an outstanding job on these cards. The shakers are just so fun. The papers really help the cards shine without being overwhelming. Maybe we should call your the Shaker lady. LOL It's great that you are having so much fun with these kits!

  • Oh my !!
These are beautiful cards, I absolutely love the kit ♥.
I try not to order too much from the US, as the shipping and exchange always make me gasp. I will sleep on it, but it is so very tempting. I just might have to make an exception.
Thank you for the great video.

  • Thank you, Jeanne! I really did have fun using this kit. And I guess I have been making quite a few shaker cards lately. Lol!

  • Thank you! The kit is so much fun! But I understand about having to pay for international shipping. I rarely order products that are outside the US. Sometimes, it's worth it though. 🙂

  • Thank you, Debbie! This kit is really a lot of fun. I'm glad I ordered refills and an extra paper pad. 🙂

  • Such a cute kit and you did a wonderful job! Love the little shaker "toppings" although I think they should be called "fillings". Also, your nail polish is fantastic!! It matches this theme perfectly!

  • Thank you, Jennifer! This kit is just adorable and I had soooo much fun using it. I agree with you that the shaker bits should be called fillings. I'm not sure why Queen & Company calls them toppings. But I wanted to make sure to use their word for their products. I like to have my nails coordinate with the paper collections, so I decided to get fancy and added the white polka dots. 🙂

  • adorable – I love all the ideas and am inspired!! Thank you – now I can start using my kit and feel like I can make beautiful cards without wasting supplies!

  • Thank you so much for the inspiration! I asked for this kit for Christmas, and have been patiently waiting for months to use it. I just finished my first card, and can hardly wait to do more. All of our children and grandchildren will be coming to Disney World this year with us, and each will get one of these cards as part of the build up to our family reunion. You are making it all so much simpler for me to start out each card, then add my personal touches. Thank you! Pam

  • Thank you, Pam! I'm so happy I can provide some inspiration for you. This kit is so much fun. I'm sure your family will just love the cards you give them. What a special treasure for them. Happy New Year to you and your family! 🙂
