The OWH March Design Bootcamp is all about composition of your card using the rule of thirds, especially when it comes to the placement of a focal point. I thought last week’s Mojo Monday sketch would work perfectly for a rule of thirds card. I’m also entering this card for the current challenge over at Cards in Envy. The challenge is to use paper strips in place of ribbon. I have tons of ribbon, but I have even more paper, so this was easy enough for me.

  • Very pretty! I like the green with the patterned paper; it's really striking. How do you like the bow die? I've thought of ordering one but I'm undecided.

  • What pretty paper and color combos Kristie! I don't know for sure if it's intentional or just instinct but I have noticed that many of the cards you've shared from your 6×6 pads seem to follow the Rule of Thirds and as a result they feel so well balanced and are really nice. Thanks for joining in the March Bootcamp.

  • Love the bow you made with paper. It really looks like ribbon. Thanks for playing at Cards in Envy!!!

  • Kristie, another fab card! I love to see what you come up with for the Mojo sketches. I followed your example and got that Lil Inker bow die. I haven't used it yet, but after seeing this card, I think I had better get busy with it!

  • Kristie, I always look forward to your latest card creations. Another great card! The bow really looks just like ribbon. Thank you for joining us this week at Cards in Envy! ~ Marilyn

  • Jen, I really like the bow die, especially with the faux stitching on it. Just make sure to use good glue, ATG doesn't hold it together. It's nice because it's pretty flat compared to the knot with ribbon. And with the die, your bow always looks nice.
