Hello, and welcome to my stop in OWH’s Blog Skip to help celebrate their birthday. If you just came from Paula’s Blog, you are on the right track. Today, I made two AnyHero cards using some wonderful sentiment stamps by Unity Stamps. I kept my cards gender neutral, that way they will be perfect for all recipients. AnyHero cards are a simple, yet greatly appreciated, way for us to let our Heroes know, they have not been forgotten. I write about my daily life, the funny things my kids have recently done, and finish with words of gratitude.

  • Kristie… I love you card.. OHH OHH OHH>. Especially the second one!!! love me some Red, White and Blue. What an inspiration. thanks for sharing ~ Pam

  • The first card sentiment is just perfect. I have a son in Japan and I would love to have that to send to him personally. Love the design on the 2nd sketch too. I plan MOJO Monday too 🙂

  • I love the second card too! The sketch (or design if it is your own) looks really good with those papers and those extra little bits as flags. Lots of detail that goes well together.
    🙂

  • Awesome cards, Kristie! I love them both! The little brad on the first one is just a perfect detail. Thanks so much for participating in our skip today and for all you do for OWH!

  • Two great cards, I love the first one as it isn't traditional red white and blue. The little birdie is awesome. Your second card is very pretty and I just love that sentiment. These Unity stamps are great!!

  • I love seeing nontraditional with patriotic AnyHero mail! These are so great —that layout on the Mojo Monday card is intriguing!!

  • I like the way the sentiment is balanced on card one, I love that sentiment. Card two is super cool, I like the embossing on the kraft paper and the little banners, great job on both.

  • These are both great Kristie, and while I will readily admit I am always drawn to patriotic designs I am inspired by your first card and the fresh, light color palette you used. I need to remind myself that not every Any Hero card needs to be red, white and blue!

  • The subdued colors on the first card really drew my eye to the great sentiment. Your second card is gorgeous with the added embossed gold to offset the red, white and blue. I like how the sentiment takes center stage on both of your cards. TFS

  • I like the mix of papers on your second card. I wish I was brave enough to mix this many colors on one card.

  • These are both great. I especially like the second one because it includes so many things I love- stars, kraft, embossing, patriotic colors, need I go on?

  • Great cards! I like the mix of paper patterns on your first card and the sentiment is perfect. The second one is a fun card with the stars and cute little flags.

  • Love the layout and papers on your first card. The twine and the bird brad are just perfect finishing touches. It's nice to be reminded to use other colors on our Any Hero Cards! I have to say that Mojo Monday sketch really intimidated me when I saw it, but seeing it brought to life in your second card really inspires me to try a more involved sketch. The sentiment really shows up with its white background against all the wonderful banner and star elements.

  • Both cards are super! I love the sentiment on the first, and the combination of papers and embossing on the second!

  • Your cards are just wonderful!!!! The 1st card looks simple and pretty, and then you look closer and realize it isn't simple at all. It is full of texture! Beautiful. Your second card is striking. The colors, and texture just capture the eye! I am so honored to be in a blog skip with you, and the other card makers. Such an honor!

  • I like the first one especially (both are great)…I like the colors and the layering…. Radloff jen at cableone dot net

  • Love the Unity sentiments used on both of your cards. You really did an outstanding job on both cards but the second one with the red, white, and blue and the stars and stripes is so awesome. Thanks for sharing with us.

  • What a super use of those wonderful unity stamps and technique! Thanks for the reminder that Any Hero cards don't have to be red, white, and blue.

  • Love the depth I feel in both cards, but especially the second one. The first one catches the eye with the twine and Spellbinder shape, and the second just draws the eye in. I think it's the triangles at each corner and then the popped up stars.
Thank you for sharing your ideas. I will be off trying them out shortly.

  • I really like the nontraditional palette in your first card and all of the embellishments in the second. Nice job on both!

  • Oh, my goodness! Two terrific cards! You rocked both sketches. I think the second is my favorite. That white circle POPS!

  • Both cards are totally awesome. I love the second with the star embossed background and red white and blue colors. Great design on both!

  • The cards are wonderful! My fave is the 2nd card because I love the red, white and blue combination!! The sentiment reminds me of Lee Greenwood's song!!!

  • Love your sentiment in the oval- really makes it extra special!Your second card just makes me so proud to be an American and suppert OWH and our troops- in one card- it sums it all up for mw! Great job on both!

  • I'm having a hard time choosing a favorite here. I really like how you went kind of outside the box on the first one, without the usual red white an blue, but I also really like your take on the patriotic colors for the second card. Love the washi style tags on the upper left. Nice work!

  • Great cards! The second one caught my eye because it's full of interest but doesn't look overwhelming to the eye. It also uses a lot of small pieces, perfect for using up those scraps I seem to have a hard time discarding!

  • love both cards! I love the underlining on the oval on the 1st card and I love the use of '3s' on the 2nd card, 3 of everything except the sentiment circle, very nice! thanks

  • I love both cards, but my favorite is the 1st one. The dots and diagonal stripes are so fun and feels fresh and happy. Thanks for sharing!

  • Beautiful cards – I love the second one and I definitely need that embossing folder with the small stars. That card is wonderful!

  • Beautiful cards Kristie, and the sentiments are showcased perfectly! You chose some great sketches too. Love the soft colors in the first and the adorable big bling. Love this collection of Authentique papers on the second. Love how you used stars to emboss the card stock to mimic the stars in the paper. Lots of great detail. Thanks for participating in the skip!

  • Kristie…I think of you as the sentiment queen cause you know how to rock them! I think the first is my fave but the second really pops! tfs!!!

  • Wow… making the background two pieces in the first card adds so much to the card. I would normally just make it one large sheet, but the split adds something to break up the large "blank" space.

I love the second card with the diagonal pattern of red white and blue… and the embossing adds great dimension.

  • I love your color choices and all the textures you use in your cards. They give the eye something to hang onto. The bottom card really catches my eye.

  • love your cards. that is a neat sketch that you used. I always have a hard time coming up with sketche's for my cards

  • I enjoyed seeing both of your cards. It is great to see that they don't have to be red, white and blue. Thanks for sharing.

  • Love how you highlighted the sentiment with the brads and layering. The star theme of the 2nd card is very attractive, embossing, pp and star die cuts. Thanks for helping OWH.

  • I love the blues and browns in the first card! The different starry elements work nicely together in the second card. Thanks too for the reminder to write about everyday life in AnyHero cards, to give our heroes a little glimpse of home.
