I have a niece that will turn 8 soon and she loves mermaids. For her birthday card, I pulled out the fun mermaid stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I don’t have the coordinating dies, so I did have to fussy cut all the images. The background die is from My Favorite Things. But unfortunately, they retired it last year. So sad because I use it all the time.
Paper – Heidi Kress

Sentiment stamp – Paper Smooches
Background stitched die – My Favorite Things

Thanks for visiting my blog today!
So cute! Too bad about the die I would have liked that one 🙂
Bummer about that die. But regardless, you created an adorable card. I don't have the mermaid set, but I keep thinking I should get it. I really like your use of the papers and the scene you created. Your coloring looks great! And so does your fussy cutting. Thanks for sharing! I'm sure your niece will love it. I wonder if she and your daughter are good buddies, being so close in age.
Thank you, Deneen! It really is a bummer that MFT decided to discontinue the die. Maybe another company will make a similar one someday.
It's so sad MFT decided to retire the die. I guess not everyone loved it the way I do. I bought the LF mermaid set when it was first released and I think this is the first time I used it. But it's LF, so I'm sure I'll use it again sometime. My daughter and her cousin are only 5 weeks apart in age. But they aren't very close since my niece lives across the country.
darn it–my comment went out into cyber space! Quick summary – love the glitter pen and your fussy cutting is amazing!
Thank you, Jennifer! This was a really fun card to make. My niece loved it!
