It’s October and that means it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness month. I’ve know many, many woman who have had breast cancer. My younger sister is one of them. She was diagnosed around 4 years ago. After being in remission for over 2 years, her cancer has returned.
It’s an absolutely horrible disease. And I know those battling it need some extra encouragement. My eye doctor is doing a fundraiser this month for breast cancer patients. They are collecting items to put in care baskets along with Words of Encouragement cards. I’ve already been busy making cards and filling them with uplifting messages.

I am so sorry that your sister is no longer in remission. It is truly sad how many have been touched by cancer in one way or another.

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear of your sister's story. I hope she can be brought back to remission. My longtime neighbor and friend was diagnosed almost a year ago now and is doing well. Horrible disease, but they've absolutely come a long way in getting a handle on treating the disease. I wish your sister and your family peace and comfort as you navigate this path. Your card is wonderful. What a worthy cause!

Thank you, Jeanne. This was definitely not the news we wanted to hear recently. I hope your friend continues to stay well. Cancer really is a horrible disease. But with new medical research, more and more people have been able to survive and that gives me hope.

I am so sorry to hear about your sister. Hopefully she will have a positive outcome and say in remission. Every female in my mother-in-law's family has had breast caner, my grandmother-in-law having survived it twice (30 years in between diagnoses), and thankfully they are all doing very well–treatments have come a long in recent years. That' is a beautiful card. It's so wonderful of you to make cards for the patients–I am sure it means so much to everyone who receives one. Sending healing thoughts your way.
Thank you, Jennifer. My family is still in shock over the news about my sister. But we are trying to be positive and stay strong for her. Treatments really have improved a lot over recent years. I'm glad to hear your inlaws are all doing well.
