Welcome to Part Four of my newest 6×6 Series. I’m using Echo Park’s A Perfect Winter collection to make cards using my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial

I’ve used this fun sketch from MFT a few times and I still just love it. My snowmen were too large to fit inside the rounded square element. So I decided to have them stand on the sentiment banner instead.

I made a total of 4 cards using this sketch.

Sketch – My Favorite Things #221

Snowmen stamps – Hero Arts and Reverse Confetti

Sentiment stamp – Reverse Confetti

Stitched rounded square die – My Favorite Things

Small circle die – Lawn Fawn

Markers – Copic

Ink – Lawn Fawn and Reverse Confetti

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

  • You do a great job with this sketch. And those snowmen are too cute! How do you decide to make short-edge folding cards (usually top folding; or as OWH calls them, hot dog folds) vs long- side folding? I had a ream of paper cut to 8.5 x 5.5 so all my card have been long-edge folds. Next time I think I will do half and half!

  • These are terrific, Kristie. That is a fun sketch. I like the rounded corners. I like your choice to have the adorable snowman stand on the banners. I really like the inlaid stitched square, too. Great use of the papers! (I think it's safe to say I like these a lot. LOL ) 😉

  • I really love your cards, they are so much fun. I own a lot of 6×6 paper pads myself, so I use "your" card sketches to work with the pads. Concerning these cards here, can you tell me the name of the stamp set with the little snowman from Hero Arts? He's absolutely gorgeous. Thx 🙂

  • Thank you! It's a fun sketch. 🙂 Earlier this year, I started making more hot dog fold cards simply because they seem to photograph better. All of my vertical cards are now hot dog folds. Since, OWH, I've always purchased a full case of card stock from a local paper company and had them cut the entire case into card bases. The long-side folds or hamburger fold. But with making so many hot dog fold cards now, I ordered another case of paper and had it all cut for hot dog folds. I am set for card bases for a very long time. I think half and half is a great way to do it next time.

  • Aw, thank you Jeanne! It really is a fun sketch. And since it doesn't use a lot of layers, it's perfect for mailing. 🙂

  • Thank you, Bettina! I'm so happy to hear you are benefiting from using my sketch measurements. I love sharing with other paper crafters. 🙂
The Hero Arts stamp set is an older retired set. It was designed as a fundraiser for Operation Write Home many years ago. I'm not sure of the name, but the code# on the set is CL647.

  • That makes sense–they do photograph better that way (no falling over!) Nothing wrong with having card bases to spare. 🙂 Thanks !
