Hello friends! I do have plans to make at least one more Christmas video for the year. But first, I decided to use Echo Park’s Celebrate Winter collection.

I make cards for a small local charity. They like to use my cards to write Thank You notes to all their generous donors. They specifically requested around 20 Thank You and General winter cards. Since they mail out the cards, I try to keep them fairly flat.

I really enjoyed the lovely colors in this paper collection. And there are some fun sentiments on the included cut aparts.

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 32 cards.

Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was just under 5 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 7 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 12 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

Cardstock colors –

Navajo – Bazzill

Sea Foam – Darice

Deep Navy – Darice

Lava – Bazzill

Silver – unknown

White Pearlescent – unknown

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Echo Park’s Celebrate Winter 6×6 paper pad.

  • Thank you, Jeanne! I really like the colors and designs in this paper collection and knew it would be perfect for some winter cards. I hope you have a lovely day!

  • LOVE to watch you use your paper pads to make a bunch of beautiful cards. Thanks so much for taking the time to share..both your work and the sketches. I am starting to make cards to donate and your videos are helping me so much!

  • Sorry, couldn't leave the spelling error 🙁
Another great set of cards Kristie.
I truly love the plaids in the paper pack – yikes I'm turning into my DH. ♥

  • What a great paper pack–love the blues. You used great sketches and your cards are wonderful. Those cut a-parts are super cute and I love the addition of those peel-offs. Thank you for sharing a wonderful set of winter cards!

  • Beautiful cards.i have a question about the sketches, do you usually just add a second layer to each piece? Your cards always look so different from the sketches.

  • Kristie, once again you have made beautiful cards with a beautiful set of paper. Nothing better than to spend a day making a set of cards while watching your video. Thank You!

  • Thank you, Francine! I love that you are donating your cards. That is very generous and I'm sure the recipients greatly appreciate it.

  • Thank you, NannaT. This really is a beautiful paper collection. I loved the colors and fun sentiments.
No worries about the name typo. 🙂 I get more people that just spell my name wrong or use the wrong name completely. (lots of Kristen, Kristine, Christy, etc.)

  • Thank you, Jennifer! Even though there's not a drop of pink, I really loved the colors in the paper collection. The cut aparts were so fun! I'm just so addicted to using Peel Offs now that it's hard for me not to use them. Lol!

  • Thank you, Evie! I just love adding layers to my cards. Most sketches don't incorporate the layers. I do add the cardstock to layer to most pieces. I simply add 1/8" to the listed measurements for the layers.
I don't always follow the sketches exactly though. Sometimes I'll change it up, depending on what size paper/stamps I want to include on the card.

  • Kristie, I was so inspired by your interpretation of this collection that I finally got up the courage to try your method. I don't have a blog, but I post my creations on my Facebook page – Cards by Gayle. If you would like to see how your work inspires others, feel free to take a look. I would be deeply humbled by any feedback you would care to offer. My solid card stock supply is a little limited, but I was still able to make a total of 24 cards. I had so much fun, I may use this method again! Anyway, thank you for inspiring me as I'm sure you inspire many others.

  • U have a gift and truly appreciate u sharing your eye and way to make some cute cards that utilizes the paper pack

  • Thank you for your kindness, Gayle. I love that you decided to give my card making style a try. It's always fun to finish off a paper pad completely before starting on a new one. I hope you have a wonderful day! 🙂
