Hello friends! It is definitely looking and feeling like fall here in the Pacific Northwest. So I decided it was time to make some fall cards using Echo Park’s Celebrate Autumn collection. I just love the pretty autumn colors with a touch of turquoise. Some of the pattern papers even have the look of burlap fabric. And there are lots of plaids, fall leaves, and adorable woodland critters in the collection.

I plan on donating most of the cards to a local charity. The woman who runs the organization loves to use my cards to write Thank You and encouraging notes. She really appreciates having a set of handmade cards ready to use. Because she mails the cards, I always try to reduce the amount of dimension to avoid paying extra postage.

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 29 cards.

Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was just over 4 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 2 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 16 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

Cardstock colors –

Peanut Fudge – Bazzill

Aegean – Darice

Wild Honey – Coredinations

Roasted pepper – Coredinations

Orange – unknown

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Echo Park’s Celebrate Autumn 6×6 paper pad.

  • I get so excited when you post new cards. I have started using the sketches you provide to get the ideas rolling lol. My cards never turn out just like yours but I loveee having the videos to get me going. Thank you. If you want to see any of them, sherbearcreations.com

  • Aw, thank you Sherry! I love that you are using card sketches. You know I'm a huge fan of them. 🙂 I will definitely stop by your blog sometime to see your lovely creations.

  • Ooooh yay! A new, beautiful set of cards and a great new video to watch them come to life. So fun. This is a lovely paper pad and the cards look wonderful. I never really thought much about sketches, other than they looked hard to follow, until I came across your videos and blog, Kristie. They aren't quite as intimidating now. I'm learning. Thanks so much! 🙂

  • I love your fall cards! They are all so good – crisp and clean–just like autumn should be. I think my favorites are OWH 146 with the turquoise and orange (squirrel) and FMS 342! I also like the hedgehog placed at the top of the last scrappy card–he's so cute! The MFT die looks like it would make a great minion. I was surprised that your heat embossing tool was blue…and not pink! Thank you for another inspirational video – I plan to make some fall cards today and this was a perfect way to get in the mood.

  • Thank you, Jeanne! I just love this beautiful fall paper collection. I'm so glad I could help you enjoy using card sketches. I've been a fan of using them for a long time and I'm always searching for new ones to try. Have a wonderful day! 🙂

  • Thank you, Jennifer! I just love fall colors and Echo Park always makes such a lovely paper collection. The little hedgehog was on one of the cut aparts. I didn't care for the design of the cut apart, but I loved the sweet hedgehog. So when I was cutting out the circle for the last cards, I made sure to feature the little guy. I want a PINK heat embossing tool! That would be so fun! Happy fall card crafting! 🙂

  • I just found your videos & blog. I love watching how you make your cards. I like that you use paper shapes for the embellishments. Thanks for sharing. I will now be following your videos!

  • Thank you, Barb! I appreciate your kindness. I like to use paper embellishments to reduce the bulk of my cards. It's nice to be able to mail a card without paying extra for postage. 🙂
