It’s getting closer to the holiday season. Have you made your Christmas cards yet? I got a really good start on mine using Doodlebug’s Home for Holidays 6×6 paper and my6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial. I made a total of 37 cards. This is actually a lot for me since I generally average 20 – 30 cards per 6×6 paper pad.

I have had several requests to make a Christmas themed 6×6 tutorial video, so I made sure to get one done well before the holiday.

I used 25 sheets of solid cardstock. ( 11 – 8 1/2 x 11 and 14 – 12 x 12)  I had very few scraps leftover this time since I made several quilt cards at the end.

Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug’s Home for the Holidays 6×6 paper pad.

  • I love your card making. I have lots of 6×6 pads that tend to pile up. This is a great idea and so many beautiful cards you created. I also love the fact that it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars in supplies, just use what you have already.

  • Thanks for doing a coordinating blog post with all the measurements!! BTW…are you an affiliate with MFT or SSS? I'm going to send the hubby the link to purchase the quilt die (saw that new die you mentioned too – how cute!!) but I'd rather send him an affiliate link for you!

  • No, I'm not an affiliate with any company. I just love MFT's stuff. Thanks for thinking of me for your purchase though. I know you'll love it!

  • Please know how much I enjoy your videos tutorials. Not a lot of talking . Just the video demo and some good music. You have brought back the joy of making cards without the over the top expense. And yes I am going to have to buy that quilt die cut

  • I'm new to card making. Love your disappearances of 6×6 pads, thanks for the videos. Question: doesn't all this cardstock on the front of the card make it front-heavy (so to speak)?

  • Thank you and welcome to the fun world of card making! I use a nice 100 lb cover weight cardstock for my card bases. So it never seems front-heavy to me.

  • I love this tut..you are amazing and so talented! I got out my 6×6 of My Minds Eye, Happy Day, and I am using your sketches for Birthday cards. Thanks a million!

  • I discovered your videos and blog today, just wanted to say thank you for your awesome tutorials and the measurement for each sketch. You rock!

  • I absolutely love watching your videos! you use a lot of ATG tape do you buy it in bulk from anywhere specific? Thank you so much for sharing all of these great tutorials I just love watching you use all of that paper in one shot. I love seeing all the different sketches and all the different possibilities.

  • Thank you! Yes, I definitely don't skimp on ATG tape. I want to make sure they last. I buy the ATG refills by the case from either Tape Jungle or Tape Depot. They both run specials occasionally, so I stock up when they do.
