Doodlebug’s Hey Cupcake – 34 cards from one 6×6 paper pad
Hello friends! After finishing Doodlebug’s Party Time 6×6 paper pad, I decided to jump right in and get started on their Hey Cupcake collection. The paper pads are very similar in designs, but have different colors. Both are birthday or celebration themed, but it’s still possible to make some general cards as well.
Jenn at Scrapbena Creations is a friend and super talented crafter. We decided to do a video collaboration using the Hey Cupcake collection. She is amazing at coloring and creating fun scenes on her cards. I always enjoy her videos and highly recommend her channel. So when she suggested we do a collaboration, of course I said YES! You can check out Jenn’s video HERE.
I stayed with usual crafty style and used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial to make 34 cards. Jenn made 16 cards, so together we made 50 fun cards using Doodlebug’s Hey Cupcake collection.
Because it takes many hours to turn a paper pad into cards, this video has been sped up 6 times. The real time recording was around 5 1/2 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
Here is the cardstock I first pulled before starting on the cards. I always pull out way more cardstock than I ever use. I list the brands and colors if I have the information. Some of my cardstock has been in my craft room for many, many years.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 15 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 5 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Cardstock colors – Pink – Recollections Artesian Pool – Bazzill Easter Grass – Bazzill Weave – American Crafts
Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. For sketches that don’t include measurements, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. I also included some sketches by Queen & Company that were designed to work with their Foundation die sets. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design’s Hey Cupcake 6×6 paper pad.

What a fun set of cards. I started following Jenn just recently and agree that her cards and videos are great. I think it’s neat you two did a collaboration. 🙂 Your cards are wonderful. So fun and festive. I also like how you were able it showcase the cards that were similar in your post. I think your new blog format suits you! Thanks for sharing.
