Once again, Doodlebug Designs released some darling 6×6 paper pads. I’ll admit I simply can’t resist their papers. They make such cute stuff! I decided to use my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial with the At the Zoo collection. I just love all the sweet zoo creatures in the paper pad. I did have to hide the 6×6 from my 7-year old daughter, since she LOVES giraffes and may have swiped the giraffe papers from me. No worries though, I did buy her a couple 12 x 12 sheets of the giraffe paper.
Usually, Doodlebug 6×6’s have a nice mix of pattern and tone on tone papers. For my style of card making, I like to use the tone on tone papers for the background of my cards. But I noticed there weren’t as many tone on tone designs in this paper pad. Because I mostly used solid colored cardstock for the backgrounds, I ended up with quite a few cards. A total of 47 cards were made using one 6×6 paper pad.
I recorded my entire process of disappearing the 6×6 paper pad. The video is sped up 8 times since the full recording time was around 5 1/2 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cut time. I have been asked several times if I record my 6×6 videos all in one day. And the answer is no. It usually takes me about 3-4 days. It just depends on how busy my life is that week. (While watching the videos, you may notice my shirt sleeves change a few times. ?)
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 17 sheets of 12″ x 12″ and 16 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ solid colored cardstock. Here are all the leftover scraps.
Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug’s At the Zoo 6×6 paper pad.

One word: AMAZING!!!
Thank you!
Another fabulous video!! I love watching your process–I always learn something. I like your background dies and embossing folders. Thank you for sharing your videos!
Thank you, Jennifer!
This is the second 6×6 card tutorial I have watched you make. My favorite design is the last one. Looks like a great way to use scraps. I noticed that you used a lot of brads. Where do you buy them? Looks like you have different colors.
Thank you, Pamela! The OWH sketch #154 is definitely my go-to sketch to finish off a paper pad. I use it a lot! I don't use a lot of fancy embellishments on my cards, but I do like brads. I buy my brads from The Eyelet Outlet online. They have a nice variety of colors, plus they carry the mini brads.
I loved all your designs. I'm still getting used to the sizes of homemade cards and there design. You help me understand tremendously. When and if I start making cards, I'll be sure to post one. Thanks again Tina
Thank you, Tina! I'm glad I can be helpful for you. Welcome to the world of card-making! Happy crafting to you!
I had so much fun watching you! (Always do). You have spurred me on to create my own, and I enjoyed this paper pack immensely. I also got 47 cards, although mine are much different. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and craftiness, Kristie!
Thank you! How fun that you used the same paper pad and also got 47 cards. I really loved this collection from Doodlebug too! Happy crafting to you!
