Hello friends! How can it possibly be mid-October already! Yikes! I feel like I’m always running behind on getting my holiday cards made lately. I’ve never been a big Halloween card maker before, but since I bring cards every month to a nearby retirement home, I try to make enough for all of the residents. They deserve some happy mail. I always keep my Halloween cards cute vs scary. Doodlebug collections are perfect with tons of cute images. They just released their new Happy Haunting collection, but I decided to use an older collection that’s been hanging out in my craft room since 2018 called Pumpkin Party. I think their Halloween collections look very similar every year. I really need to get better about using up papers I already own before buying more. Lol!

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 41 cards.

Here is the cardstock I pulled before starting on the 6×6 paper pad. I always pull out way more cardstock than I ever use. I list the brands and colors if I have the information. Some of my cardstock has been in my craft room for many, many years.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 22 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 5 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. All my cards are A2 size. For sketches that don’t include measurements, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design’s Pumpkin Party 6×6 paper pad.

  • Kristie, watching you make cards is so calming. I love to sit in the quiet of my house listening to the soothing music and watching your fingers fly! The one thing I have never seen in your description boxes is the card base size you use for the cards you make from a 6X6 pad.

    • Aw, thank you so much Laura! I appreciate your kindness and support. My cards are generally American standard A2 size. 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I try to remember to mention it either in my videos or on my blog post, but sometimes I forget. 🙂

  • Yay to you for using an older paper pad! Now you have room for a new one. Haha! This is a great set of cards to celebrate the holiday. The residents will definitely smile big when they see theirs. 🙂

  • Ah, Doodlebug! Great bright colors and adorable images. 41 cards–wow! It was so nice to see the cover-up dies back in use, too. TFS these sweet and cute cards!! You should be ready for Halloween now for sure!
