Hello friends! With Independence Day just around the corner, I needed to make more cards for the retirement home residents. I decided to use Doodlebug Design’s brand new Hometown USA collection. They always have such cheerful designs. Perfect to brighten someone’s day. It’s been several years since Doodlebug released a patriotic collection, so I purchased a ton of stuff! I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 30 cards.
I forgot to take a picture of the actual cardstock colors I used for cards. This picture shows a bunch of patriotic cardstock I recently purchased from my local Joann store when it was on sale. I knew I was starting on patriotic cards soon, so I figured I’d stock up.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 2 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 10 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

I very rarely use the tiny tag sheets that are included in Doodlebug’s 6×6 paper pads. If I want the cute designs, I will purchase the individual 12×12 sheet. I just find the mini tags a bit too small. I may cut them down and pop them on the inside of the card for a little extra fun.
Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. All my cards are American standard A2 size. For sketches that don’t include measurements, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements.
