Hello friends! I hope everyone is doing well and safe. Maybe you are able to have a bit more crafty time right now. I decided for my next 6×6 video I would use an older Doodlebug paper pad I found in my craft room. Doodlebug’s Spring Things was released in 2016 and I forgot all about it. I had even bought a bunch of the coordinating Doodle-pops.
I love all the new releases, and yes, I have been purchasing some of them. But I’m also enjoying using up stuff I bought years ago. With everything going on in the world, I know it’s a bit harder to buy some of the new releases. So this is the perfect time to use what we have. Since this collection may not be available any longer, you can always use a different paper pad and still follow along with my tutorial.
Because it takes many hours to turn a 6×6 paper pad into cards, this video has been sped up 6 times. The real time recording was just over 5 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
Here is the cardstock I first pulled before starting on the cards. I always pull out way more cardstock than I ever use.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 5 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 12 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Cardstock colors –
Caspian – Coredinations
Easter Grass – Bazzill
Robin #3 – DCVW
Banana – American Crafts
Pink – Unknown
Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. For sketches that don’t include measurements, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. I also included some sketches by Queen & Company that were designed to work with their Foundation die sets. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design’s Spring Things 6×6 paper pad.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
I appreciate your kindness and support!
Beautiful cards Kristie. Your timing couldn't be more perfect – I just finished using up my Doodlebug Spring Things paper pad a couple days ago. I would have loved to have had some of the Doodle-pops, but I am happy with the cards I have. ♥
Stay healthy
I love your 6×6 videos! So happy to have a new one today. Can you share details on how to send cards to military? Might as well put this extra crafting time to good use. Thanks
Such a delightful set of cards, Kristie! Thank you for your dedication to sharing your talent with us. New or old stash, it all works. Stay safe and well. 🙂
These are so bright and beautiful that they brought a big smile to my face. Wonderful cards as always! Thank you for sharing.
This is the CUTEST set of cards! They are so cheery. Thank you for brightening my day! Now to find that paper!
I love all the cards–so cheerful and sweet! They sure made me smile!
Reach out to local VA or National Guard units. They usually have someone locally who coordinates cards and gift boxes. Big thing for military cards: no glitter, sequins or bling that is reflective. It's a safety issue. Stuff like Stickles where the glitter is fully enclosed in a glue is usually ok, but check with your local group!
Thank you! The Doodle-pops are always really cute, but a bit pricey. It was definitely a happy find. Have a lovely weekend!
Thank you so much! It's nice using up some of the older papers I've been hiding in my craft room. Lol!
Thank you so much! I always enjoy using Doodlebug papers. 🙂
Thank you so much! If you can't find this older collection, the newer Doodlebug spring papers are very similar in design. 🙂
Thank you so much! Doodlebug papers always make me smile! 🙂
