Hello friends! I can’t believe summer is right around the corner already! My kids are counting down how many days are left of school. Although in western Washington, school doesn’t get out until late June. I figured I should get to work on at least one more spring paper pad. I used Doodlebug Design’s Simply Spring 6×6 paper pad. This collection is bright and cheerful with Doodlebug’s typical whimsical designs. I also purchased the icons sticker sheet to use on my cards.
I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 34 cards.

Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was around 6 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 14 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 8 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Cardstock colors –
American Crafts – Lipgloss
Coredinations – Tulip
Bazzill – Easter Grass
Unknown – blue cardstock
Unknown – light purple cardstock
Darice – Boysenberry

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home and the newer Mojo Monday sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug’s Simply Spring 6×6 paper pad.

I appreciate your kindness and support!
These are fabulous, Kristie! You did a wonderful job showcasing Doodlebug's fun papers and stickers. I like that you continually use new sketches and your favorites. You get lots of great cards as a result. I look forward to watching them come to life in your video. Thanks so much for always creating and always sharing.
Such a cute and happy paper pad–makes me smile just seeing the pretty colors! You did a wonderful job combining just the right papers together. l really like the first 3 sketches and how you incorporated the cut aparts and stickers. That Tonic specialty paper is awesome!! Doodlebug, LFL peel-offs, shiny paper and stickers? Doesn't get much better than that! Thank you for sharing the happiness!
I love these cards. So cute (as always). Doodlebug always comes through with adorable paper and stickers. You really do a great job. I enjoyed the blog. I havent had a chance to watch the video (health issues) but I am anxiously awaiting my time to watch.
Thanks, Jeanne! You know I'm a huge Doodlebug fan and can never resist their adorable paper collections. Have a beautiful day! 🙂
Thanks, Jennifer! Doodlebug papers always make me smile. And I agree. Doodlebug, LFL peel offs and shiny paper makes crafty so much better. Lol! Have a beautiful day! 🙂
Thank you, Sherry! I am always a fan of Doodlebug paper collections. They are just bright and cheerful. I do hope you are feeling better soon. Health issues are never fun.
are your mats only 1/4 inch each side? your sketch says 4 1/2 but you mat the print with card stock. is the card stock 4 1/4 or the print?( i am new and trying to figure your steps out)
Hello! I generally add 1/8" for my matted layers. However, for many of the cards in this set, I did use 1/4" layer for the base. All of my cards are A2 size 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". If I added a 1/4" matted layer, then the background paper is 4" x 5 1/4". If I only added 1/8" layer, then the background is 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". I hope that makes sense.
Hello, Kristie. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and ideas. I have been a scrapper for years, but just caught the cardmaking bug this past April. Now I make about 70 cards each month for my sisters Meals on Wheels clients and it's so rewarding! I have purchased several types of brush markers and am not getting the coverage I want. I've used my watercolor pencils and aqua painter, but that takes a lot more time. would you mind telling me the brand of the markers you use? Thanks again for everything.
Hello! Thank you for your kind comment. I really appreciate. Welcome to the world of card making. I think it's wonderful that you are making cards to give to others. I know you are blessing so many people with your generosity.
I rarely color stamped images. But when I do, I use Copic markers. I don't own all the colors and keep the coloring very simple. It's definitely not my gift.
