Hello friends! Sometimes I purchase a paper collection simply because it’s super cute. That’s how I always feel about Doodlebug products. Their fun papers and adorable critters always make me smile. I bought their Great Outdoors collection last year. I felt that it released a bit late for the season, so I set it aside. I really needed to make some cheerful cards, so I pulled it out and mostly finished off the 6×6 paper pad. (I still have some of the sentiment cut aparts and several mini tags from the paper pad.) Along with the paper pad, I also purchased four of the coordinating 12×12 pattern paper sheets. I like to use the muted designs as backgrounds on my cards.

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 42 cards.

Here is the cardstock I pulled before starting on the 6×6 paper pad. I always pull out way more cardstock than I ever use. I list the brands and colors if I have the information. Some of my cardstock has been in my craft room for many, many years.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 7 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 13 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

Cardstock colors –
Carrot Cake – Bazzill
Pumpkin Patch – Bazzill
Banana Split – Bazzill
Meadow – Darice
Napa Valley – Darice
Mediterranean – Bazzill
Polar Ice – Coredinations
Kraft – Papertrey Ink
Chocolate – Bazzill
Mocha – Darice

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. All my cards are American standard A2 size. For sketches that don’t include measurements, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design’s Great Outdoors 6×6 paper pad.

  • Nothing like a Kristie 6 x 6 tutorial with Doodlebug! I absolutely love this set! I love that little worm, the adorable bears, foxes, and especially the moose. And the skunks! The “Bigfoot is my spirit animal” is quite fun. I also like the collage of tags. You must have had a great time with this one! I noticed they paper pad had the sentiment cut-aparts again–yea!! I’m curious how much of the ephemera and stickers you had left. I know you used a lot. Perhaps Penny will have some fun with the leftovers. 🙂 TFS!!

    • Aw, thanks so much! You know I can never resist using Doodlebug papers. They are just soooo cute! I still have a ton of ephemera and stickers leftover. But I did buy a second paper pad, so it’s not a problem. Lol! I was so happy to see the sentiment cut aparts have returned. They are always fun to use. 😊

  • Fabulous collection of cards, Kristie! This is so fun. I think you did an outstanding job showcasing the fun papers and the adorable critters. It’s a happy and upbeat collection that is sure to make any recipient smile. I like the background dies you’ve accumulated to add a bit of subtle texture, too. Thanks so much for sharing, my friend!

    • Thank you so much, Jeanne! Doodlebug collections always make me happy. 😊 I love the texture background dies! It’s fun finding new ones. I’m still sad Lil Inker Designs closed several years ago. They had some of the best designs. I won’t be destashing my set.
