Hello, friends! I still need to use up some older paper pads that have just been hanging out in my craft room. Next on the list is the Anchors Aweigh collection from Doodlebug Designs.

The paper collection is more on the masculine side and has lots of water related images like sail boats and sea critters. I did use some of the cut aparts included, but also used the Sea Friends stamp set from Pretty Posh Posh.

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 28 cards.

Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was around 4 1/2 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 12 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 6 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

Cardstock colors –

Navy blue – Recollections

Yellow – Stampin Up

Caramel Apple – Bazzill

Gold Course – Coredinations

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design’s Anchors Aweigh 6×6 paper pad.

  • I love the cards you've made with this paper pad.
I have been saving this very collection waiting for inspiration to hit (thank you), but I think that I may use mine as "welcome baby" cards.
Have a wonderful Independence Day tomorrow.

  • I thought this was more in the line of baby or young child paper. It is cute!!
I look for your posts when I am having a card slump….especially when I can't come up with ideas.

  • Thank you! It sounds like quite a few people bought this paper collection and haven't used it yet. Glad I wasn't the only one hanging on to it. I think the collection would be perfect for baby cards. I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day!

  • Thank you, Gerri! I think the paper collection would work great for baby or young child cards. But I decided to make it work more for what I need. Doodlebug papers are always so cute! I hope you had a happy and safe Independence Day!

  • Thank you, Donna! I really enjoyed using this paper collection. And my husband did a great job finding the perfect music for my video. He's a huge help with my videos. 🙂

  • So many people have mentioned they have this paper collection and just haven't used it yet. Glad I wasn't the only one hanging onto it for so long. Lol! I think I only have 1 or 2 older DB collections left to use. Other than the collections I just HAD to buy 2 of since they were so cute. (That's pretty much all DB paper) 🙂

  • This paper pad is so cheery! I really like the colors and the bright and fun feel to the cards, Kristie. I don't have this paper pad yet and you are making it awfully tempting with the great use of the sketches and the sea critters. Enjoyed the video very much, too. Keep up the great work, Kristie! 🙂

  • Thank you, Jeanne! Sorry for the continued enabling. I obviously have no will power when it comes to resisting crafty purchases though. Lol!
