Teacher Appreciation week is celebrated from May 7 – May 11 this year. I volunteer at my daughter’s elementary school and see so many staff members go above and beyond, nurturing hundreds of young minds everyday. I’ve always made cards for my child’s teacher. But this year, I decided to show my gratitude to the entire staff. I set a goal for myself to make 70 cards. If you follow my blog, you’ve already seen many of the cards I’ve made so far.

I used the Back to School collection from Doodlebug Design to make the last of the needed cards and I exceeded my goal by a few cards. Hooray! It was fun to make so many school themed cards. Now I just need to include an thankful message inside each one.

I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 34 cards.

Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was around 5 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 16 sheets of  8 1/2″ x 11″ and 8 sheets of  12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design’s Back to School 6×6 paper pad.

  • What a wonderful collection of cards, I am sure that the staff at your daughter's school will love them. Thank you for the inspiration ♥

  • Fantastic work, Kristie! I adore the bright and colorful cards and the sketches you used worked really well for the theme. I like how you repeat some sketches and also add in some new ones. I know the staff will really appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness. Wow, I'm so happy for you to have reached your goal! 🙂

  • Fantastic cards Kristie! You must feel so good that you have enough cards for everyone now. They are really great–bright, fun and inspirational. What a thoughtful way to recognize people who are important to your daughter's school. Thank you for the new inspiration–great sketches and fun to see all the items you pulled out of your stash!

  • Thank you, Jeanne! I try to include a couple "new" sketches with every video. But I also really like to reuse previous sketches. There are so many awesome sketches, it's hard not to reuse them. Now that I've reached my goal, I need to start adding a message inside each card. 🙂

  • Thanks, Jennifer! It does feel great to have all the cards done. Of course, now I need to add a message inside each one. Good thing I have a couple more weeks to do that. I really hope my cards make the school staff feel appreciated. 🙂

  • You make the most beautiful cards! I watch every one of your videos and read all of your posts. I was wondering where you order your ATG refills. I have been looking but haven't been able to find any that work with my pink gun other than the Scotch brand? Do you order in bulk? I'm sorry if you told us in one of your videos and I missed it. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your craft with us. You are truly an inspiration!

  • Thank you, KellyAnn! I appreciate your kindness and support. I purchase my ATG refills from Tapejungle.com. It's not Scotch brand, but I actually prefer the generic. I buy the tape by the case, 144 rolls. If you won't use that much, perhaps you have a crafty friend to split the cost with you. I also watch for their sales. 10 – 20% off. I've gotten it for around .85 cents a roll. 🙂
