It’s Christmas in July time. I used an older Carta Bella paper pad called Have a Merry Christmas. It’s been hanging out in my craft room for far too long and was begging to be turned into cards. I’m trying really hard to use up some older 6×6’s so I will have room for all the new Christmas papers coming soon. I always need quite a few Christmas cards every year. I’ll be donating some cards to a local charity and many will also be given to a local retirement home. Then, I’ll need a bunch of cards to personally give to my family and friends.
The Carta Bella collection has a very traditional Christmas look with lots of greens and reds. There aren’t any cut aparts included in the the paper pad so I used some Christmas stamps set for the images and sentiments. The Ink Road Stamps was so kind to provide me with their Fir Real stamp set. It’s a fun set with lots of sentiments and whimsical fir trees.
I used my 6×6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 34 cards.
Because it takes many hours to use up a 6×6 paper pad, this video has been sped up 7 times. The real time recording was around 4 1/2 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
In addition to using the 6×6 paper pad, I also used 7 sheets of 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 12 sheets of 12″ x 12″ solid colored cardstock.
Cardstock colors –
Scarlet – Coredinations
Fern – Corendinations
Black – Recollections
Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Carta Bella’s Have a Merry Christmas 6×6 paper pad.

Yay, Christmas in July! You did an outstanding job with the paper pad and the new Christmas stamp set. I really like the sketches you chose. They looked great with the papers. Now you have a nice start on your Christmas card collection. I look forward to watching them come to life in your video. Thanks so much for sharing, Kristie! 🙂
Hi Kristie!
You've managed to do it again – and bring in the Christmas holidays with you! I adore your cards and love the designs you've used with these holiday papers. You are making me start to think of Christmas in July and getting ahead of my future card needs! Add a little Hallmark Channel in the background, and I just may have a little crafty party for myself! Thank you for bringing the joy and sharing it with the rest of us – you are so exceptional in your design skills 🙂 Have a wonderful day!
Hi Kristie
Fabulous job as always. I think the Freshly Made Sketches 317 is my favourite and I will definitely be using that one for some of my Christmas cards.
Hopefully I will be starting them this week and will be using your amazing card designs for inspiration.
Thank you for sharing, as I know they do take some time to prepare.
Happy Crafting

You have been so busy lately! Thank you so much for a Christmas card video–perfect inspiration for starting early! I really like these clean and simple stamps — they and the inks you chose worked so well with this paper pad! I love your star brads, too. My fav this time was Freshly Made sketches 160, but they are all really pretty! TFS!!
Thank you, Jeanne! It feels so good to have some Christmas cards already done. 🙂
Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it! Sounds like you'll be having the perfect crafty party. I love the Hallmark Channel. 🙂
Thank you, Tracey! I never used to start early on Christmas cards. But it's so helpful since I will need A LOT of cards this year. I hope you have a beautiful day! Happy crafting!
I actually have way less crafty time during the summer, but I'm trying to make the most of time I get. My video To Do List is quite long. Thank you for visiting my blog and for your kindness. I hope you have a beautiful day!
Omg, I'm accutalla in love with your paperwork! Love from Norway

Gets me in the mood to make Christmas cards! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Kristin!
It's always nice to get an early start on Christmas cards. It'll be here before you know it. 🙂
Thank you for posting these with measurements.
You're welcome! I'm always happy to share the sketch measurements with fellow crafters. 🙂
Thank you for all the time you took to write out the measurements. Being new at this craft having everything visual helps alot. Your cards are beautiful
You are very welcome. I'm happy I can make crafting a bit easier for you. Especially since you are new to card making. 🙂
Thank you for these great cards. I CASE’d your patchwork card for our church shut-ins. The variety of DSP makes this card look especially cheerful. The quilt look reminds us we’re pieces of the patchwork of our church. God bless you and Merry Christmas!
