Welcome to the first Cards in Envy challenge for August. It’s also my first challenge rejoining the Cards in Envy design team. The theme is Wings. Simply create a card and include something that has wings.
Having a 6-year old daughter, there is a lot of talk about fairies. She loves to read books about them and dress up like them. So naturally, I had to purchase the darling Lawn Fawn fairy friends stamp set. I created the background using Brusho watercolor powder, then added the My Favorite Things window die cut over it. The dark blue background looked like a night scene, so I thought it would be perfect to hang some little lanterns.
Stamps – Lawn Fawn
Window die cut – My Favorite Things
Watercolor powder – Brusho
Watercolor paper – Canson
Markers – Copic
Ink – Memento and Ranger Archival
Gold embroidery thread
Wink of Stella glitter pen
I hope you have time to play with us over at Cards in Envy. Just remember, cards need to be flat enough to mail, so no thicker than 1/4″.
Thanks for visiting my blog today!
Hello old friend and welcome to the Design Team! Your card is delightful; I must get that stamp set. I'm going to be looking for tiny glowing fairies in the yard on this summer night!
Kristie, How fun to see your card in today's CIE post — and what a cute card it is! I can only imagine how much Penny loves these fairy stamps, and I really like that blue background/lantern combo. 🙂
This is card is simply adorable Kristie! I love your brusho background, it really does look like a night time sky. Hugs, Brenda
Thank you, Sherry! How fun that we get to be on the CIE team together. My daughter may come and search for fairies with you. She'd be so thrilled to really find one. 🙂
Thank you, Sybrina! Penny made me stamp several fairies for her before I was allowed to finish my card. Lol!
Thank you, Brenda! The Brusho watercolor powder is so much fun to play with. 🙂
