Hello, it’s time for a new card challenge over at Cards in Envy. The theme is On the Beach. We want to see cards that feature a beach image.

My daughter used to be a huge fan of pirates, especially pink and sparkly pirates. So naturally, I had to purchase several pirate stamp sets. I decided to create a little scene with a treasure chest waiting on the beach for the pirates.

  • Great scene, Kristie! You have a great eye for design and balance on the card. The colors are terrific and I like the texture in the palm tree leaves. The sparkly gold looks wonderful, too. So fun! Thanks for sharing. 🙂 Have a great day!

  • Great card! I love the extra bits of texture and shine. They really make the card look 3-D even though it all still fits nicely into an envelope. Has your daughter outgrown the pirates now?

  • Thank you, Jeanne! It's always fun using some different techniques to make a card. And can you believe I didn't use any 6×6 patterned paper!

  • Thank you, Jennifer! This was such a fun card to create. I use 6×6 paper pads so often, it's always nice to do something a little different once in awhile. Yes, my daughter has outgrown her pirate phase. Now she loves anything and everything kitty. But giraffes are still her favorite animal.
