It’s time for the 2nd card challenge for September over at Cards in Envy. It’s time to go Retro! The challenge is to create a card featuring a style, fashion or design from the past. I’ll admit, this was a bit of a struggle for me. I planned on using the typewriter stamp, but I really had to search through my paper stash for something that felt old-fashioned. I think this paper from Crate Paper works very well, especially after I distressed the edges.

I decided to make a second card after another Design Team member mentioned October Afternoon papers. I remembered I had this space themed 8×8 paper pad with a sheet of old ads. I think it definitely fits the Retro category.

  • Well for me it doesn't seem that long ago that I learned to type on one of those! Very retro indeed. Love your card design! And your moon shoe ad card is fabulous too!

  • I remember learning to type on one of hose typewriters and getting my fingers stuck cause yped oo fast for it. Great job with the card.

  • Two great cards. I learned to type on a typewriter just like the one on your first card. Love the moon shoes on the second! ~ Marilyn

  • I love both cards, great job. The background papers on the first one look just like the wallpaper on my parents bedroom wall back in the day … very retro. Great job 🙂
