Welcome to the second August challenge for Cards in Envy. The assignment is to make a card using one or more birds on it. Super fun, don’t you think? I just love this cute little puffin stamp by Stampers Best. It’s a fundraiser stamp for Operation Write Home, so that’s a bonus as well. I paper pieced the bow tie and colored the beak and feet with colored pencils. I used a Copic marker to add a light outline as well as some color to the eye.

paper – Doodlebug – Stars & Stripes

stamps – Stampers Best

brads – from stash

die cuts – Spellbinders

colored pencils – Crayola

Glossy Accents

I also added some Glossy Accents to the eye, but it’s rather hard to see in the picture.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and I would love to see you come play with us over at Cards in Envy.

  • Here's a bird I don't see that often, well in fact never, but its just adorable, and I love your fabulously fun paper choice and color scheme. Great Card!

  • Love that red bow tie on your puffin bird! He's so handsome. Wonderful color choices and darling card! ~ Marilyn

  • I like how the rounded corners of the rectangular panels tie in with the scalloped mat of the focal panel. Your nod to the traditional red, white and blue patriotic colors makes this a super card for OWH! 🙂

  • I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out the name of this cute little guy. A Puffin!! I loved him in the photo album and I love him here. So, so, so cute! I absolutely love your colors and design.
