Hello friends! After 6 amazing years, it’s time to say farewell to Cards in Envy. The very first Cards in Envy challenge was on February 4, 2013. The challenge was founded by Denise Gray and Sandy Trefger. In July 2014, Denise was diagnosed with cancer. She quit designing for the team as she battled the disease. Sadly, Denise lost her battle 3 years ago. She was so full of life and remained positive all through her treatments. She is greatly missed by so many people and will always be in our hearts.
As a tribute to Denise, the final Cards in Envy challenge is a sketch challenge using the very first sketch Denise designed for the blog. I really hope you will join the Cards in Envy team to celebrate Denise and the wonderful card challenge blog she created.
I ended up making 2 different cards for the challenge. For the first card, I followed the sketch very closely. I kept the design very clean and simple using a fun stamp set from Lil Inker Designs.
Image and sentiment stamps – Lil Inker Designs
Stitched rectangle die – MFT
Circle dies – Spellbinders
Glitter paper – Queen & Company
Peel Off stickers – Love From Lizi
Ink – MFT and Reverse Confetti
Nuvo glitter drops
For my second card, I made a card with a loose interpretation of the sketch. I used lots of pretty specialty papers to add shimmer and shine.
Wreath dies – Pink & Main
Sentiment die – Pink & Main
Ribbon – May Arts
Nuvo glitter drops
Sketch – Designed by Denise Gray
